Nutstile Farm has a long and interesting history. The original house was built in the 17th century but was rebuilt by Carol and Stephen in 1988. It was formally owned by ‘Greenwoods’ (men’s retailers) but was taken over by the Brennand family in 1955. Nutstile Farm was previously known for coal mining and brick manufacturing many years ago. To this day bricks bearing the name ‘Barker Ingleton’ can still be found.
