About Ingleton & the Yorkshire Dales


The area  is a walkers paradise, starting with the stunning Ingleton waterfalls walk, the 3 peaks challenge of Ingleborough, Penyghent  & Whernside for the serious walker or can be climbed individually. Other walks recommended walks include Oxenber & Wharfe woods near Austwick where bluebells & orchids can be found in abundance at springtime.

White Scar & Ingleborough caves are close by & offer guided tours. A leisurely ride on the Settle- Carlisle Railway is a must, the Ribblehead Viaduct is just a 15min drive away & was the inspiration for ITVs period drama ‘Jericho’.

The Lake District, Trough of Bowland, Lancaster, Skipton, Kendal & the seaside at Morecambe are a short drive away. Also worth visiting are nearby villages, including Dent (cobbled streets) Hawes (wensleydale creamery) & Kirkby Lonsdale.

Snaizeholme Red Squirrel Trail (between Ingleton & Hawes)

The Snaizeholme red squirrel viewing area lies in the heart of the Widdale Red Squirrel Reserve. The viewpoint and surrounding woodland offer an excellent chance of getting superb views of red squirrels as they visit a feeder in a woodland clearing.

 

Handy Information


Dogs are welcome with our guests although we do ask that they stay outside in one of the farm buildings or in your car. Cyclists are also welcome with secure storage available as well as ample car parking spaces for those traveling by car.

The living accommodation at Nutstile Farm is complemented by the spectacular views over the Dales. The accommodation has recently undergone new decor. All dietary requirements can be catered for upon request, evening meals are regrettably not available however there are dining facilities available in the villages close by.

The farm is located half a mile from the A65, if driving from Skipton, turn left one mile after the Little Chef. From Kendal take the second right after the petrol station on leaving Ingleton. (Lookout for the Garden Toys sign at the junction and travel in the opposite direction.) The farm is well signposted from the junction. For those wishing to come by train, give us a call and we will meet you at the station, Bentham being the nearest.
